Rabanadas

This Portuguese version of the French toast is traditionally served as a dessert on Christmas day.

Recipe for 4 people:

  • 1 French stick
  • 1 whole egg
  • 200 ml whole milk
  • some sugar
  • some cinnamon powder
  • olive oil
This recipe is very simple and quick to realise. Slice the bread into 1 cm thick pieces. Beat the egg. Then, dip the slices into the egg, then into the milk and pan fry them for 5 minutes on each sides with a little bit of olive oil. Take them out onto some kitchen paper and sprinkle them with some sugar and cinnamon.
Serve warm.

Vegetarian, nut free, suitable for pregnant women.
